About this course
Paracademy offers the most rigourous training programme in the world for instructors. Indeed, Neil Godbold, our examiner, is the most sought after IKO Examiner globally and has been training kitesurfing instructors for nearly 10 years now.
Our kite surfing instructor training uses the IKO syllabus which has a UK supplement to ensure that not only are you qualified to teach anwhere in the world, but your training has some specific UK content as well to ensure you understand how kitesurf training is conducted in the UK with the various authorities and bodies you'll need to deal with.
Additionally, the training package we have can be verified as being BKSA compliant and an optional module is available for those people wanting to attain the BKSA qualification as well.
Our course doesn't just cover the minimum requirements for becoming an instructor. Paracademy ITC graduates tend to attract higher wages and are sought after all over the world because of the standard of their training.
Anyone can be a good rider, all it takes is practice and determination, only a small number make good instructors - are you one of these?
Note: There are minimum requirements in order to become an instructor. Generally these are:
- The candidate must hold an RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate [or equivalent internationally].
- The candidate must hold a valid, water based first aid certificate.
- The candidate must be able to ride in many different conditions and show experience of this.
- The candidate must be proficient enough to choose correct equipment for the day and changing conditions in order to maintain a level of safety.
- The candidate should be able to ride up and down wind, as well as execute basic jumps safely.

The Kitesurf ITC is run at our Weymouth, Dorset location, or in Cyprus and the Phillipines during the winter months.
