01.05.2007 Paracademy Eastern Extreme opens its doors
Today we opened our doors and welcomed our first official students in to the centre for a 3-day kite surfing lesson with Dean, the centre manager. The three students were all fresh to the sport of kite surfing and had a fantastic day. Here's hoping the next two will be just as good.
We also had about 20 riders turn up today to go kite surfing, who were all amazed by the previously unknown conditions on offer at Gorleston beach. Most riders in Norfolk proceed to the usual spots of Brancaster, Seapalling, Hunstanton and Lowestoft and haven't tried Gorleston in the past. The general concensus amongst the riders however was that it was a fantastic site to go riding. Having the school based here now as well will help with safety and will allow people to ride in off as well as onshore conditions knowing there is a rescue craft on site.
If you do want to ride at Gorleston, please drop into the centre in the Ravine and have a chat and we can point a few things out to you. Also note there is be no riding north of the Ravine as this is an exclusion zone put in place by the harbour.
